Attendance Update

As part of our regular policy review cycle, we have updated The Kite Academy Trust Attendance Policy; a copy of which can be found on our academy website.

Please note that we now ask all parents and carers to contact the school office by 8.30am each day if a pupil is not going to be at school or will be arriving late. This generally applies to any unplanned absences such as illness or transport issues. The updated timings will ensure we are able to close our registers promptly and carry out our statutory attendance and safeguarding checks.

If you need to inform us of such an absence please contact the office via telephone 01483 811197, email school@wyke.kite.academy or fill in the form on our website.

Should you have a planned absence such as a medical appointment or request for leave etc, please let the office know as soon as possible, with a minimum of two weeks’ notice, by completing a request for leave form. We will also require evidence for the requested absence such as medical appointment letter.

A reminder that routine appointments such as opticians or dentist appointments should be made outside of school time.
