As Part of the Kite Academy Trust...
"Wyke School is where children are inspired to become life-long learners."
Our children are encouraged, stimulated and celebrated to reach their full potential.
Everyone within the school community
understands their rights and is welcomed into a safe, healthy,
happy and secure environment. Every child and adult is
valued and respected for their individuality and for the
contributions they make.
As a Rights Respecting school, each class has a class charter. The children in each class identify which of the rights from the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child they would like to incorporate in their class charter.
Our whole school community agreed on a set of values for our school that we explore and develop over a whole month. This takes place in assemblies, in class and round the school generally. We aim to develop children's understanding of what is often a quite abstract and complex issue, to help provide and model the language to talk about them.
The values for each month are:
September - Responsibility
October - Co-operation
November - Peace
December - Freedom
January - Honesty
February - Love
March - Kindness and Caring
April - Friendship
May - Respect
June - Fairness
July - Trust
At Wyke the British Values underpin all that we do.
- Democracy
- The Rule of Law
- Individual Liberty
- Mutual Respect
- Tolerance of those of different Faiths and Beliefs
