Today we had our BTR textiles recycling launch. The children and parents brought in clothes and textiles that they did not need and we weighed the bags to see how much they had collected. As a school, we managed to collect an amazing 395kg of textiles to be recycled. Not only is it great news that we are helping the environment, but we are also raising money for the school! We get a small amount of money for every kilogram collected and this morning thanks to all your collecting, we raised an amazing £158!
The overall winner was Lewis in year 2. He managed to bring in a huge 25kg of recycling! Well done Lewis. He won a book token.
Thank you to Friends of Wyke for co-ordinating the collection and for giving up your morning to help with the weighing.
We have the clothes bank permanently on site now, so you are able to bring clothes and textiles to drop off whenever you have them.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
